Over the first two weeks of the school summer holidays the club played host to Leicester Tigers summer rugby courses.
This is the sixth year Tigers have brought their course to our club and it remains one of the biggest courses of its type anywhere in the UK.
The club is very proud of its association with Tigers and enjoys playing host to their coaching staff and the 150+ young players from across the region and beyond who attended.
This year saw a couple of firsts for the course with Tigers bringing their Judo coaches and transforming our clubhouse into a Judo Hall together with welcoming the first girl onto the course. The players took to the Judo in style and immediately saw the benefit of this cross sport training (as did a few of the parents who also tried it!). Emily who took part in the second week with 55 other players also enjoyed the course and has written her thoughts on one of our Blog sites (click here for details). She is part of the new Under 15 squad Swaffham RUFC is developing for the new season.
As a small club we are indebted to our sponsors who provided the food to feed all our guests over the two weeks with a nutritionally balanced hot meal on a daily basis, together with support from the Army in the form of Corporal Carroll who prepared all the meals to the highest standard. Lots of well feed, activity young rugby players can vouch for that!

The course will return for the seventh year in 2008 for the first two weeks of the school summer holidays. Please check back for further details.
