Lichfield RUFC hosted the first Senior County Ladies match when Staffordshire played Leicestershire. The Staffordshire side was made up of players from Longton, Eccleshall, Burton and Lichfield.
The game was hard fought and evenly contested in terrible weather conditions, Leicestershire started strongly and were soon camped in Staffordshire's half, but with sterling defence they failed to get past the line, After some great play with forward and backs interlinking Debs Mason went over for a try to give Staffordshire a 5 - 0 half time lead.
In the second half Staffordshire scored an early penalty and the game went from one end of the pitch to the other, Leicestershire final broke the line when they scored a try in Staffordshire's corner. This spurred on Staffordshire and they responded immediately with Debs Mason scoring her second try and duly converting giving Staffordshire a 15 - 5 win.

The two junior teams took on Worcestershire and Warwickshire in a triangular tournament
