Midlands Regional 12s Tournament
The tournament was played at Broad Street on Saturday May 3rd. Staffordshire were one of six county divisions involved in the tournament. In Staffordshire's pool were NLD and Warwickshire. In the first game against NLD, the boys found the well drilled NLD backs difficult to cope with and suffered a heavy defeat 32 - 0. However, the players learnt quickly and adapted their game well to give Wawickshire a tough game, emerging winners 20 - 10. In the final game for the third place play off they paid East Midlands. In a thrilling game in which the try of the tournament was scored off a well engineered backs move, Staffs lost narrowly, but gave an creditable account of themselves. Thanks goes to the oys and their parents for attending the training sessions leading up to the tournament and the efforts of Pete Aspley and Anhony Nixon for their contributions as coaches.
