PAIGNTON RUGBY CLUB YOUTH / JUNIOR SECTION
Paignton RFC offers coaching and player development opportunities to children and young people aged between 5 and 16. (please see costs below for more details on age groups)
We offer a friendly and safe environment to learn rugby union, develop skills, play matches and have a great time while helping to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Many junior players have gone on to full first team rugby. There is potential to represent county teams and even beyond.
Matches take place On Sunday mornings, home games are usually at Queens Park, home of Paignton RFC, however in the case of U13's up matches may be played at other locations such as Clennon valley depending on weather and main pitch usage. When there are no matches teams generally train, Additional training is arranged for teams during the week. In addition teams play away fixtures.
Coaches are a mixture of Parents, helpers, all of whom have a strong interest in the game and some have significant playing experience, including current first team players assisting the coaches. All coaches are qualified at the appropriate level, they are working with. the club is looking to promote development of skills and coaches have opportunities to attend training so they can teach the next level of Rugby as players progress through the continuum (stages of rugby skill development). In addition all coaches, helpers undergo CRB (criminal record bureau) checks to ensure the safety of the children and young people in their care.
