ANONYMOUS LETTER SENT TO THE ORFU
Response to anonymous letter to Hon Secretary of ORFU
Having received the anonymous letter, attached, our Honorary Secretary has passed this to Kevin Robinson, our CBRDP Chairman and therefore the person responsible for youth rugby in Oxfordshire, and myself. As an anonymous correspondence it should have no value whatsoever, however, both Kevin and I feel that the correspondent does need to be able to understand his or hers misunderstandings. I have set out below the Oxfordshire Rugby Football Union view to our responsibilities and you will find also Kevin’s view on the matter.
Oxfordshire RFU have an all inclusive regard to rugby rather than a protectionist view, we therefore accept all comers who wish to play or be involved in rugby, no matter what class, creed, gender or ability. We also welcome people from anywhere and anyone that feels that they will be better catered for in our county environment rather than there own. This is, we believe, the attitude to rugby that all genuine rugby people would take and therefore will always have this view, certainly whilst our existing managing committee is in place.
I don’t need to cover representational rugby as this is covered in my colleague, Kevin Robinson’s, response. We will not be prepared to enter into any further dialogue as long as the correspondence is anonymous but would welcome any person wishing talk to us direct to contact any of our county executive board.
Colin Baldwin,
Chairman Oxfordshire RFU
FROM THE CHAIR OF ORFU CBRDP

Only those players qualified for Oxon are permitted / will be allowed to be considered for an Oxon. We are very clear on this and further we would highlight the regulations as detailed in the RFU
Schools and Youth Regs section 4
* 4.1 A player may qualify to represent the relevant Age Grade team in a Cb if he meets one of the following criteria
Cb = Constituent Body
a. he attend school in the Cb area
b. he resides in that Cb
c. he was born in that Cb or
d. he is a member of a club affliated to that CB
We have 4 members of Stratford RC with our age grade U16 group who whilst playing for Stratford actually live in Oxon thus fulfilling criteria (b) or live outside Oxon but are at school in Oxon ( thus criteria a and specifically Bloxham as a day boy or boarder ). Finally there are a couple who qualify under criteria d as Stratford is a formally affiliated club to Oxon.
We are confident that we comply with all eligibility rules.
We also highlight that players may play for another CB irrespective of the above if they have not secured a place in their home CB and on these things we co ordinate with our area selection chairman Neale Bake of Bucks and Tom Bazely of SW Division.
From the tone I would suggest this has come from Warwickshire and has nothing to do with parents though I will put out a note to my parents on the above
