Old Tiffs 2nd XV vs Chiswick 3rds

At 2 there was 1. At 2.15 there were 3. At 2.45pm there were 6 players. 15 minutes until kick-off and everything was under control.
Admittedly, some players made their way in a leisurely fashion, but sometimes that’s the preparation needed for a big game. The captain led by example. Instead of leading stretch exercises, it was deemed more suitable to drive ¾ quarters of the way to Streatham listening to the best of Kraftwerk, before changing the GPS to Chiswick. Sam and the gang also had their orienteering task to do before the match. However, after solving their final task - which year Chiswick bridge was built - they made their way down to the ground.
Kick-off was kindly delayed by Chiswick 3s. The match started at 2.15pm with almost a full team, and a couple to join slightly later on. Old Tiff’s piled on the pressure straight from Kick-Off, running through 3 phases before setting up Tom Rich to score out wide. From then on, Old Tiffs rucked and supported well to put a succession of tries past Chiswick 3s.
Tiffs were immediate to score again in the second half. After this, Old Tiffs did become sloppy for a period and Chiswick were unlucky to not capitalise on this. All credit to the opposition as their voices seemed to grow louder with every try against them. However, Tiffs regrouped and although tired at the end, there was good consistent play from both forwards and backs, particularly Garlic (Man of Match) who was always in support. The game ended 89-0.
Dick of the Day was awarded to the captain, Ted Sutton. Joel Rich’s beautiful dive for a try 5 meters from the line does not go forgotten though.
