Mid Summer Bike Ride
Well done everyone who took part in the ride. I think everyone enjoyed themselves, although I left some of my DNA on the route home. We raised £85 for the flood light fund.
.
BIG THANK YOU
To all at the Bell on The Common for the money donated to the club after their quiz night. The night raised £67 toward the flood light fund. The clubs quiz team held their own by coming 3rd after a poor joker decision. A good night was had by all. Thanks

Under 18's Meet Their New Sponsor.

.
Subway have supported our Under 18's by donating a set of playing shirts which was offically handed over to the teams coaches Andy Heath and Scott Simmons on 14th March. The new kit worked well inspiring the team to a 17 - 20 victory away at Warminster.

Vet's play an attacking style of rugby!!!
The Vet's entertain the crowd with an attacking style of rugby against North Dorset. Honours were shared 24 - 24 and any weight lost during the game was replaced afterwards in the bar. Age is no barrier to flair but weight might be!! Well done lads.
.
First Team Sponsor.
The Club proudly presented Mitsubushi Motors with a replica first team kit to say thank you for their support over the past 2 years.
Crowd Discipline
Rugby takes pride in being the gentlemen’s game where the principles of fair play are upheld and the referee’s decision is final. There should be no need to remind everyone to ensure that their support for their team does not infringe on the game.
Remember that there is a fine line between vociferous support and being an intimidating crowd.

Team Sheets on the Web....

The senior team sheets are now published on the website every Tuesday so check them out under the menu title "Teams" to see where you are playing.
.

The Under 18's side had a quick pose for the thousands of adoring fans in attendance.
With Marlborough who are unbeaten all season coming up against a joint second place Melksham side in good form this promised to be a cracking encounter and so it proved . With promotion beckoning Melksham were fired up from the start and following a penalty against Marlborough for hands in the ruck James Ponsford stepped up to put Melksham 3- 0 up.The lead was short lived when Marlboroughs no 8 picked up from the back of a scrum and powered over from 20 metres to score near the posts and with the successful conversion the score was 7-3. Ponsford slotted a second penalty to get it back to 6-7 but Marlboroughs 8 struck again when following a break he offloaded to the Marlborough fly half who romped in wide out. Scott Simmons hit back for Melksham with a neat drop goal and following a long spell of pressure the home side were now looking the better team. Ponsford struck with 2 more penalties and Melksham had a 15 points to 12 lead and looking in control of the game. However Marlborough then showed why they are unbeaten and fought back strongly to run in 2 more tries in the last 5 minutes of the game to wrap up a thoroughly entertaining afternoon of rugby with the final score 24 - 15 to Marlborough. Melksham 's promotion prospects are still the balance with some uncertainty about who is being promoted from Divisions 1 North and South. A play off is a possibility for the Melksham men against the runners up of Division 1 South to decide who goes up and a decision should be made soon.
