Marple Mini Rugby
Welcome to the Junior Section of Marple Rugby Club
As well as running three senior teams, Marple Rugby Club also has a substantial Junior Section for Mini and Youth Rugby. Since its formation in July 2000, the Juniors of Marple Rugby Club have gone from strength to strength. Now in its 9th season, the Club now has teams in every age group from Under 6 through to Under 16 and at present we have nearly two hundred members.

The Junior section of the Club trains at 10.00 am every Sunday morning at our excellent facilities in Marple. There are two full sized and one 3/4 size pitches and ample additional lawned space around for training. The Clubhouse operates catering and bar services for parents during training and matches, and of course changing and shower facilities for the players.
The junior coaching staff now consists of 28 RFU trained and registered coaches. Properly trained coaches are important in the development of the players as they progress through the RFU defined age group continuum (gradually introducing the contact elements of the game in line with the children's physical development). As part of the complete administrative structure behind the Juniors we have a Child Protection Officer overseeing the activities on and off the field.

Mini's Chairman
The Junior Section of Marple Rugby Club is now proudly celebrating its 9th season. From our tentative start at the Isle of Man back in October 2000 we have gone from strength to strength. We have nearly 200 members filling the age groups from 6 to 16. It's great to see everyone enjoying themselves out there on Sunday mornings, playing good rugby regardless of the weather.
We have played 14 games this season - some mixed results but everyone has yet again improved tremendously since last year. A good measure of our success is the results against the teams we play regularly - the likes of Glossop and Congleton and we have enjoyed some great results against them this year in all age groups. Well done to all the children and coaches, the hard work has paid off.
So finally, a big thanks to everyone who is helping run the club this year, it takes a lot of effort behind the scenes to keep us going. Willing parents is what makes it all work and we always need more help. Coaches, club officers, catering, sweet shop, shirts and kit sales, first aid and everyone else who have helped out: Thank you very much.
