Kruts v Methley
Knottingley Rockware U12s 38 -
Methley U12s 4
10th December
2005
Knottingley stretched their
unbeaten run with a comfortable win over a battling Methley side. Slow out of the blocks, Knottingley
managed to open the scoring when Ryan Hart picked up a loose ball to cross in
the corner.
Knott then found themselves
defending a spell of Methley pressure which resulted in Methley's solitary
try. Benny Tucker diffused the
pressure when he intercepted a pass to go under the posts and Terence Link added
the conversion. Punishing yards
from forwards Robert Nicholls and James Raywood tired Methley's defence and a
cracking kick from Tucker sent Tom Langdale in at the corner. James Mattin, Ben Reynolds, Ryan Barnaby
and Gino Burnett led a solid Knottingley defence and the first half finished
with Knott 14-4 ahead. Starting the second
half with a spring in their step, Knottingley continued to batter Methley with
the big pack men, Aiden Smart, Tom Fitzsimmons and Andrew Woolford grinding out
the yards. MikeyDalton and Liyam Laraba impressed with some
solid defence which paved the way for Knott's next try when Mattin jinxed
over. Reynolds took a well-worked
try with a break from half-way after some fine work by Burnett and Woolford
obliged with the conversion. Knott
were now flying and some lovely passing involving Curtis Macdonald, Liam Kitchen
and Ryan Neilson gave Asher Hoyle his first touchdown. This was closely followed
by his second, again after some great work from Link and Reynolds. Not to be outdone, Raywood bagged one
for the forwards and Smart converted.
