Knottingley demolished a spirited Drighlington side in impressive
style.
Early
Knottingley pressure took its toll on Drighlington as they succumbed to a
ferocious defensive display from Ryan Barnaby, Gino Burnett, James Mattin, Ben
Reynolds and Benny Tucker. Continued battering of the Drighlington line resulted
in Barnaby crossing to open the scoring. A clever dummy by Tucker put Curtis
Macdonald through for his first soon afterwards.
Tom Fitzsimmons, Asher Hoyle and Liyam Laraba worked tirelessly both
going forward and in defence which led to Tucker's second after he threw another
great dummy, Burnett converted. Macdonald claimed his second after great work
from Grant Smith, Reynolds, Tucker and Laraba. The second half saw Knottingley get into their
stride and slick passing put Barnaby over for his second and Burnett obliged
with the extras.Nicky Beach crossed in the corner collecting a
Burnett kick after hardwork by Ryan Neilson, Andy Woolford, Eddy Smart and
Fitzsimmons. Power house James
Raywood caused all sorts of problems for Drighlington and they had no answer as
Barnaby completed a fine solo effort to cross under the posts with Burnett
adding the conversion. Macdonald claimed
his hat-trick to wrap up the proceedings.
