Firsts v Dinnington
Knottingly 15 Dinnington
29
29th October
2005
Knottingley were well under par this
week and ended with a disappointing loss away at third placed
Dinnington.
Knottingle started poorly and were 7
nil down within 3 minutes. However they did bounce back and their best period of
play was just after they conceded.
It was about a 15min spell which saw a penalty by Coutts and a try from
Woolfie. However, after this, Knott seemed to take several wrong options and in
the end paid the price trailing 19-8 at half time.
Dinnington increased their lead to
29-8 in a fiery second half which saw 2 players sin binned from either side.
However Knott had the last word with a good try from Coutts after good work from
the forwards.
It was not Knottingley's best
performance of the season. The effort was there but the execution and game plan
was not. Knottingley must now work hard in the run up to Xmas. They have 5
crucial league games against sides in similar positions and must look to pick up
league points and get some confidence back.
This will be achieved by hard work
on everybody's part and improved defending. We are conceding too many points per
game at present because we are allowing the opposition too much time and space,
a luxury we are not afforded by other teams.
Stay positive the lads will turn it
around there is plenty of talent there.
