Jarrow Juniors vs Blyth Juniors
Jarrovians were excellently led by Lewis Holman against a strong well drilled Blyth team. Despite being under pressure for much of the game the home team showed real promise. The skipper led from the front and was ably assisted by Tyler Davison, Taylor Longsworth, Connor Goodfellow and James Mensforth who were all eager for the fray. Despite their willingness, however, Jarrows play was necessarily defensive and it was fierce tackling by Mark Pude, Adam O’Docherty and Jack Barker which kept the Blyth score down.
Although the visitors had steadily built up a deserved lead the Jarrow heads remained high. Sniping runs by scrum half Charlie Winn Davison were a constant threat and after fine work by Robert Guy setting up a ruck won by Daniel Atkinson and Adam McGow linking with new boy Jack Marshall. He in turn set the excellent Ryan Erskine free and only the slippery conditions could bring an end to a fine handling move.
Mathew Brady proved himself a dependable utility player stepping effortlessly into numerous positions when injuries demanded. Hooker Connor Brown worked tirelessly around the park as well as winning all his scrum ball and throwing faultlessly in the line. Andrea Stobbart, Adam Mc Gow and Jack Gallagher were thrown into the action at half time but the Blyth dominance was already established and they were unable to turn the game.

Jarrovians U13 v Mowden U13
A strong well drilled Mowden Park beat Jarrovians comprehensively on Sunday, Despite some brave resistance from the home side they had no answer to the powerful running from the Mowden midefield.
Fine tackels from new boy Taylor Longworth and old stager Charlie Winn Davison kept Modwen at bay for a length of time, but eventually their resistance was broken.
When Jordan Campbell came on in the second half Jarrovians attack started to look more menacing but two converted trys took the score over 50 and despite Jarrow complaints Mowden stuck to the letter of the law and the game was ended.

Jarrovians U13 v Gosforth U 13
On a typically glorious sunny Jarrow day a strong Gosforth side must have thought they were in for an easy day as they started strongly and through some disappointing tackling from the home side to notch up an early 4 try lead.
Only then did the Jarrovians team wake up, and the rest of the first half was more evenly contested. Lee Trelevyn had a solid game in the pack and much good work came from him. Lewis Holman started to make charging runs from the flank and Rees Fleming almost benefited on the wing.
In the second half Jarrovians lifted their game again and were rewarded with 4 fine trys. Charlie Winn Davison scored twice with fine swerving runs from deep. The excellent Tyler Davison scored a deserved try after much good work.
He was also involved in the best try of the game making a break before slipping the ball to jinking Mathew Brody and a brilliant timed pass to full back Ryan Erskine who timed his run to perfection to score under the post.
Gosforth scored a couple of fine trys themselves for a final score Jarrovians 24 Gosforth 53.

The sun shone down on the righteous on saturday at Jarrow as the home side hosted a fine Gateshead squad.
With some much need bulk returning to the Jarrow squad after there summer exploits in the far east Paul ArrowSmith, Brian Berry, Tom Account and Andy Stanton, help to develop the new game straturgy that the coaches had been working on all summer.
However it was the visitors who had the best of the opening period but sound defence from a committed Jarrow team who had taken some much needed advice from there friends and foes Westoe who assisted during there summer training camp at lukes lane, kept them pegged back to one score. Slowly the gold and black tide started to force Gateshead back and after a period of intense pressure the ball fell to Gary Archbold the elder. Despite being surrounded by players he produced a piece of leger de main that opened a gap in the massed ranks, which he gratefully and gracefully glided through to register jarrow's first points of the season.
The second half saw Gateshead score two breakaway tries, but the play belonged to Jarrow. strategy
Constant Sniping runs from Graig Donald left the visitors grasping at straws and it was only last ditch defence which kept them out.
Finally and justifiably Jarrow scored, Finally the forwards sped the ball to nick Hepple whose lightening pace scortched through for a try.
It was the home side who finished in the ascedency but a gane Gastehead defence held them out.
