but on a more serious note the year is coming to a close with a good win against horden 3's on Saturday gone, hopefully this will set the tone for the new year, we have a game on the 27th away at Chester le street, so please make the effort and run some of that stuffing off.
Followed by the Christmas ding dong merrily on Billy bong high Christmas party, which hopefully we will enjoy. tickets are selling well.
looking forward to the new year we need to look around us and see what players we can recruit to help bolster the numbers. Unfortunately we have lost the services of Chris McIntosh who with his recent promotion at work has been sent to the far north of Scotland were they don't play rugby. so from the club and myself I wish Chris and his family all the success in his new opportunities up north.
there are one or too player who drift in and out week in week out who we need to encourage to play on a regular basis, so talk to your mate or not even your mates and get them there every week.
So wishing all a Merry billy bong billy dong ding merry christmas
october
Lads sorry about the whinge but I need to have one. Over the last two weeks
we managed to get teams out but with a struggle. The captains and vice
captains are having to do too much chasing players, and checking
availability of everyone. We do not have the luxury of a massive squad of
people so we need players to support these guys that you voted on and put
in charge of the team for this season.
All they are asking is that you contact, by text,or by call and tell them
your availability , and please not at 12.30 on a Saturday when your
supposed to be meeting. Give them plenty of notice. ideally by mid week so
that they can make alternative arrangements.
We need to pull together as the guys who have played over the last couple
of weeks for both teams have shown a lot of spirit and commitment, but the
little bit of cohesion is missing, which has resulted in what read like
hidings by the score line. But I can honestly say the last two games if it
was not for a little bit more luck, lack of injuries then the score line
would be a lot more respectable. Its not that bad.
Training is well structured to try and get the best out of individuals and
co ordinate the team moves and tactics. If I can manage two sessions a week
i am more than sure the fitter lads amongst you can really contribute and
enjoy these sessions. So I ask you all to try and make at least one session
a week.
We need some additional recruitment, to bolster the squads, as on Saturday
the second team had only 6 players.
So can we all rally round and chase past players, and even bring some new
players to the club. We are not always looking for quality but some
additional numbers and bulk to bolsters the squads, so bring a mate
campaign will start this week and continue for the rest of the month.Prize
for the most mates you bring (Archie those are not the one that come in
packets)
Finally, on the 8th of November we have a away trip at Whitby, so we are
again planning to run a bus. £5.00 per head including match day subs. We
need the numbers, so please subscribe to the trip. The intention is the bus
will leave at 12.00 and will return from Whitby at 7.00pm arriving back at
the club at 8.30 allowing for people to still enjoy there Saturday night
with there partners. So lets pull together and make a real go at getting
the numbers there..
So no excuses I did not know???
thanks
Brian
