Welcome to the Haslemere Rugby Under 8s page.
We train and play tag rugby from 10am until 12pm each Sunday at our Woolmer Hill playing fields.
Children turning 8 between 1st September 2011 and 30th August 2012 can join our group. Please come along and you will be made very welcome.
We play competitive matches, tournaments, and friendly away fixtures as well as home training. The season starts on Sunday 4th September 2011. You can see the fixtures list within this website under junior club/minis fixtures.
When you bring your child along we ask that you remain to watch them or by all means offer to help with some of the drills if you are able. Ensure that they are warm and have a change of clothes as well as a drink and a snack.
We are a friendly club and provide encouragement and fun sessions so to ensure that children are happy and enjoy the thrill of competitive running rugby.
This is our last season of tag rugby before we go into contact rugby next season so an opportunity for children to learn the basic skills and see if they like it. This season children must continue to wear tag belts and velcro tags (which the club provides) as part of competitive games. Tackling involves pulling a tag from the belt of another child carrying a ball. Contact tackling is not permitted this playing season.
We take great care of your children and all coaches are CRB cleared. Insurance is provided through the club as long as club membership is completed.
