Dear all,
DO YOU HAVE u12 GIRLS WHO CAN NO LONGER PLAY WITH THE
BOYS NEXT YEAR? ........ DO YOUR MALE PLAYERS HAVE SISTERS WHO WANT TO GIVE
RUGBY A GO?
I would like to bring to your attention a girls rugby development program Bristol Ladies are running this summer. The Bristol Ladies Rugby Summer Camps for U13, U15, U18 girls aims to give development opportunities to current players and an opportunity to ‘try’ the game for new players. The camps will be Friendly, FUN and non-contact and any ability of player is welcome. All the info is attached.
Wed 17th August 10am-3pm U13 (11
& 12 year olds) & U15 (13 & 14 year olds) @ the Portway Rugby
Development Centre, Bristol
Wed 24th August 10am-3pm U18 (15,
16 & 17 year olds) @ the Portway Rugby Development Centre, Bristol
Bristol Ladies do not have a junior section but as the leading South West side we want to grow Women and Girls rugby to push the sport on in the local area. In collaboration with local girls sections the camps are being run by Bristol Ladies volunteers which includes England Internationals Kim Oliver and Marlie Packer as well as leading coaches. Players who already have a club can join us for the day to work with elite players and get an understanding of what it takes to get to the top. New players will be introduced to the game gradually in a fun, accessible way through games such as Rugby Rounders and Rugby Netball. Based on where they live these new players will be re-directed to local clubs who always need new players.
Since the RFUW introduced the U13 age group there is an opportunity for girls who can no longer play with the boys, or who have been playing Tag at school to get involved with girls rugby. Clubs who are interested in establishing an U13 girls side, perhaps because they have lots of girls coming through in their mini section and there is no-where for them to go, please get in touch as Bristol Ladies and the RFUW would be happy to help.
Kind Regards
Julie
