RFU
Safeguarding Policy & Guidance
|
|
The RFU has long been at
the forefront in ensuring that the rugby environment is a safe one for the
young and the vulnerable. The Union’s new and updated Safeguarding Policy
and guidance document is now available for all levels of rugby union in
England. Safeguarding Young People and Vulnerable Adults within Rugby Union
Policy & Guidance, replaces the previous Welfare of Young People in
Rugby Union Guidance document with immediate effect. Please ensure
that any future safeguarding related processes are carried out in
accordance with this new document. To view and download the document
go to rfu.com/safeguardingpolicy.

At the close of the Play On
campaign we have written to thank all O2 Pathfinders and everyone who has
supported the Play On campaign. The time and effort given has ensured that
current players stay connected and has helped to ensure that rugby union
continues to thrive in England. The initiative will inform the RFU’s
continuing work in recruiting and retaining players. Read
the brief feedback on what has been achieved in the Play On and O2

Engaging
Schools with Rugby Union and our Clubs
|
|
Alongside the profile of the
Rugby World Cup, we will engage every school in the country with our
game. Before they broke up for the summer, every secondary school
Head received our new brochure Supporting Whole School Improvement. We
will follow up with a reminder of what rugby union can do for them in
September. In addition, every primary school will receive a version
of the brochure. That’s 20,000 plus schools getting direct contact
from the game. Rugby World Cup teaching tools and resources across
the curriculum will also be launched when the new term starts.
What we offer is all being published to rfu.com/schools
ready for the new term so don't forget to take a look.

SSE (Scottish
& Southern Energy) - Official Community Partner of the RFU
|
|
The partnership includes
supporting the funding of our Community Rugby Coaches (CRC) and the title
sponsorship of the National and Divisional Leagues. The initial stage of
the sponsorship will see SSE launch a season-long rugby club support
programme called Rugby Essentials, awarding prizes of much-needed resources
to English clubs. The programme will be determined by the results of the
What Clubs Need survey, which will be completed directly by the clubs and
has been designed not to repeat anything we already know from our own
surveys. For details go to www.sserugby.com.
We are delighted to welcome SSE to the RFU and particularly within the
community game, which clearly plays such a crucial role in the development
of our sport.
