RFU Constitutent Body Send Out

January 21, 2011

Dear Tricia,

  Welome to January's CB newsletter.

The future of rugby in England

The RFU has announced a major organisational restructure to shape the future of the union and rugby in England, including the creation of a single Rugby Department. Read an outline from CEO John Steele and click to view the accompanying presentation.

  RBS RugbyForce

A nationwide volunteer programme which helps local rugby clubs to improve their facilities. Registered clubs are provided with online guidance and tools to help them co-ordinate a community-wide effort to give the club a makeover. RBS RugbyForce weekend happens throughout Scotland, England and Wales on June 11 and 12. Clubs can register online at www.rbs6nations.com/rugbyforce. Three winning clubs will receive a package worth £5,000 to put towards rejuvenating club facilities.

RFU Grand Draw heads for new record

The RFU Grand Draw 2010-11 is set to beat the record amount raised last time of £475,000. With 90 per cent of all money being received as a tax free donation by participating clubs and schools it is a great fund raiser for the game. There are still two months to go before returns have to be sent in, the deadline is February 28, 2011. Several clubs have registered and received tickets since Christmas.  So if you have not entered your club or school yet there is still plenty of time. Just contact the organisers at grand.draw@therfu.com.

The purpose of the CB Send Out is to provide a single RFU/RFUW e-newsletter for operational communications from all departments relevant to Constituent Bodies nationally. This enables us to: reduce the quantity of email sent to CB volunteers, provide information in 'bite size chunks', ensure requests for action or information are volunteer friendly, comply with the RFU e-day policy. You have received this email because you have  'CB’ role on the RFU’s RugbyFirst system. If you would like this role removed, please email rugbyfirstsupport@therfu.com and it will be removed on your behalf.
