Gloucestershire Schools Seven a side Tournaments.
The Under 18 and Under 16 County Sevens tournaments were held at QEH Bristol and Bristol Grammar School grounds on Thursday 6th March 2008. Both competitions were very well contested and a total of forty teams took part. All five districts of the County Union were represented. In the Under 16 competition semi-finals Bristol GS defeated Cheltenham College 19-0 whilst Colston’s defeated QEH 10-nil in the second semi-final. In a splendid final Colston’s emerged victors over Bristol GS by 19 -12.
In the senior competition the semi-finalists were Filton College, Hartpury College, Cheltenham College and QEH. Once again these matches were well contested with Hartpury defeating Filton by 28 to 12 and QEH 31 Cheltenham 24 saw the home team into the Final. Hartpury College emerged as convincing winners by 36-7.
