The Sporting Blues
The Sporting Blues provide rugby for the men and women of the armed services of the U.K. In this area it is mainly to the Royal Navy and the Royal Marines.
We run three senior teams and an occasional veterans XV, Colts, a Youth section and a girls section catering for U18s, U15s and U13s girls.
Devonport Service 1st XV play in the Western Counties (West) League.
Thanks to the forward thinking of the Royal Navy and support from the Royal Navy Rugby Union (RNRU), we are able to run probably the strongest and best youth set up in the county if not further afield as well. All ages from under 6 to under 16 and colts are catered for. Some age groups can field two teams and girls are welcome at all ages with a strong Girls section from u13s - u18s.
The club badge is made up as follows; the Lion on top represents the British Army, the Royal Navy has the middle spot with the Royal Airforce at the bottom then the banner.
