Club Development
- Furness RUFC have gained the RFU Seal of Approval Award after some hard work by a small team of volunteers. This now assists the club with their application for RFU Funding through the NW Facilities Group for 2010/11.
- Upper Eden RUFC have reaccredited their Seal of Approval Award with a new team of 3 individuals looking after the process. The volunteers are relatively new and have completed an outstanding job which has developed on the original award substantially.
- The RFU Rugbyfirst Training at Newton Rigg College was well received by the clubs despite logistical problems on the first evening. Further training has been booked in with Max Burton and will have basic training on the first evening and advanced training on the second.
- The NW RDT have undergone training on the RFU side of the COLT System with the second instalment due on the 5th July 2010 which will be completed from a Club perspective. Training will be cascaded to CRC’s and Clubs over the coming months.
- Carlisle RFC are the latest Cumbrian Club to undergo the RFU Whole Club Development Workshop with an excellent showing of 29 individuals. The club had a vast array of people in attendance on the evening including U12 players, senior players and coaches and external individuals. The event was a great success and have given the club plenty of fuel for their WCD Plan.

Facilities
- Work has began on the Wigton Drainage Project which was identified through the NW Facilities Group. The work will be completed early in the season with minimal disruption to the September period.

|
7-18
- The NW CVOC Tag Finals in Manchester were a great success with 33 teams turning up on the day. The format saw pools first and foremost which then saw teams seeded and getting a minimum of 8 quality games over the course of the day. Feedback was very positive and organiser Garry Holmes was happy with the outcomes of the day. Kirkby Stephen Primary School contested a tight final against Tarleton but both teams will represent the NW at Rugby School in July.
- Cumbria RU organised a meeting of key stakeholders in their Club Cumbria Committee to discuss the future given the poor performance of the group in 2009/10. The outcome is that Kevin Johnston will look after the Senior County and U20 XV’s and the RDP will look after the U15-U18’s in the meantime until Kevin can take over full time in 2011/12.
- All CRC’s in Cumbria have completed their Appraisals for 2010/11 including setting their new targets for the coming season, these are linked to local, regional and national targets as applicable.
- The Cumbria RDT have planned in 90% of their events for the 2010 Season following the NW Finals set in May, All activity is linked to the Finals and is in place with linked coaching blocks.

Coaching
- The Furness Level 1 Award started on 23rd June with 23 individuals in attendance on the evening. Initial signs are that the course will be very well successful given many of the quality applicants. The course has been very well supported by the Furness club with around 16 of the 23 strong total being from the club. This is a further indicator of the club’s recent success and growth.
