We are new and we are comin to take your ball !. This fine bunch of lads from Cape Colts have been together for about 18 months now and are ready for their first foray into the world of competitive rugby.

We played a few really good sides last season and the character that the lads showed throughout the year has been a testament to the future of rugby union in this country.
Over the coming months the awesome pack are ready to fight for every ball and hit every ruck at top speed. Leading from the front we have Adam Dean, Kieran Cunnagh and Tom Hayden. Scrapping at every breakdown we have the locks Ty Tankard and captain Hayden 'farmer' Cassidy. A mobile back row of Gary Alman, Ste Marlowe and Jamie 'the tank' Tankard help to ensure we hold and gain ground with any side we play. Scrum half Josh Forster provides the creative spark for the back line allowing George 'podge' Brooks the angle to burst through the line at 10. outside at 12 we have the sidestep kid Rich Xxxx and Lewis Fryer holding the tram lines . The safe hands of Jake 'the baby' Walsh are sure to get us under the sticks whenever he catches in space, he's gonna run rings round ya. We have Big Andy and Jamie Reynolds shoring up the ranks the season looks bright. Any new players are welcome as we have a full fixture list for the coming season, whether you are a complete novice or a county player we are a well established social and competetive rugby union side. We have a full complement of coaches and all are RFU trained (to at least level 1). We have a dedicated Child Protection Officer who is also RFU trained and all members of the junior staff are CRB enhanced checked. Capenhurst u17's vs Glossop u17's. Sunday 31st august.
A tough game to warm up on, but a good lesson in the basics. Glossop are an able team and a 0-36 scoreline was fair. It was a physical game from the off and Capenhurst were unlucky not to get on the board. We are getting better every week and we look forward to Sale visiting us next week in the first league fixture. Big thanks to Lewis Fryer for not being a footballer and being a rugby player today, he got a cracking bust nose and never made a sound, Lewis hurry up and recover pal.
Kendal u17's vs Capenhurst u17's. Sunday 14th September.
A fine hello to the league ended with a 48-0 win for the home side. A hell of a drive and with 14 lads, we played our game and were punished by the more able back line of kendal. We were punished on the wings and the score reflected this. Debuts for Aaron Griffiths, Josh Edge and Dave Price. Man of the match - George Brooks.
Trafford Metrovicks u17's vs Capenhurst u17's. Sunday 21st September.
Disapointing. That's really all there is to say about this fixture, From the start of the game, this was going to be a physical game. We are normally quite happy with that but we were out muscled by a frankly better side. A scoreline of 53-7 didn't do us justice and i feel we could have offered more resistance if we hadn't been drawn into the handbags that disrupted most of the game. With people on the touchline shouting abusive and ungentlemanly remarks, i found it difficult to control myself and was very disappointed at what kind of message the lads got. Capenhurst can hold their heads up on the field, as the game got away from them they never stopped tackling and like always played till the end. Man of the match - Josh Forster.
Capenhurst u17's vs Prenton u17's. Sunday 5th October.
After our last fixture I felt that we had made the wrong decision putting our lads into a competitive league, well today I ate my words as I watched the best game I have seen from my lads even if we lost 5-35. We knew what was coming after our three fixtures last year and today was no different. Physical and fair, is what I would say. From the off Prenton were obviouly going for the try line in an attempt to steamroller the win, some stout defence from Cape made for a bruising first 40 with Capenhurst losing the battle with 2 forward powered tries conceded. For most of the first half we lost a lot of ball in the scrum and it is difficult to attack from that type of play, We stuck at it and in the final play of the match Farmer boy Kieran bombed the Prenton line with his own missile attack, nice pop from Josh Forster allowed the big fella to score our only try. Second half replacement at hooker (Ty Tank) shored up our scrummaging enough to secure some ball for our 8 to have a go, good defending from the Prenton back row kept attacks to a minimum though and we conceded 3 more tries in the second half. Get your heads up Cape because you gave a cracking account of yourselves today and you can look forward to your first win soon. Man of the match - Hayden Cassidy.
Orrell u17's vs Capenhurst u17's. Sunday 12th October.
Scoreline of 59-0 does more for Orrell than for us obviously, but once again the lads played their rugby and contested the game. I am sure that Orrell know they have been in a game and I am proud of Capenhurst for that. For the first ten minutes we took the game to Orrell and we camped inside their 22, a missed penalty kick was all that we came away with though. Orrell were a very good running side with able players at 4, 11, and 15. The winger ran in a 60 yard try for the first score and hats off to him, it was a quality try. We struggled to secure ball in the scrummage but managed to win and disrupt our fair share of lineout ball (well in podge and farmer) I think we have played the top sides in this league so far and our result reflect that but there is a lot more to come from this side, debut today for Leon in the centre and a switch for Tom Hayden in at 10, we are starting to build an attacking force. Jake Walsh shored up the back line in at full back for the first time and he saved us 2 tries with some fine tackling and chip n chasing a couple of times. Josh Forster at scrum-half attracted the attention of the opposition coaches and players alike and as a result he is awarded the man of the match. Looking forward to Birkenhead Park next week. Man of the match - Josh Forster. (below, Cape on the attack, thanks Ian.)

Capenhurst u17's vs Birkenhead Park u17's. Sunday 19th October.
What can i say....... 0-20 was a fair result on the day, we didn't really turn up today. We locked horns a few times last year and the two sides are at a similar point in their rugby playing ability, or so i thought. Birkenhead were smarter than us today and won with the brain rather than the brawn. Capenhurst expected to be playing the same side as last season and that they wouldn't have moved on at all, how wrong, we were wrapped up with big Brooksy and it showed as we committed more and more lads to tackling him. Onwards and upwards it is. Man of the match - Adam Dean.
Capenhurst u17's vs Ormskirk u17's. Sunday 2nd November.
O.k this was a great game of rugby, hats off to Ormskirk for their sportsmanship and supporters. We were a man short and they loaned us a full-back by the name of Jack ********, he scored all of our 16 points in a 16-26 loss. the game was at 16-19 with 5 minutes to go and Ormskirk must have been worried because we were camped inside there 22 for a length of time and we were pushing for the score to clinch the victory but after an incident with Tank and there players resulting in a penalty for Ormskirk where they kicked for touch really well and from the resulting lineout they attacked through the middle, and scored on the wing. Great play from both sides and i was really proud of my lads today. Man of the match - Jack ********. Below "we'll have a scrum sir". Thanks to Ian Griffiths for the pic.
