Awards For All and Capenhurst Juniors.
In September 2007 we were awarded a grant of 7750 pounds as part of the commitment to sport promised by the National Lottery Good Causes Fund. With the funding we were able to put together a team at u16 level and work with a local high school to promote rugby development in a new area.
Blacon High School (Specialist Sports College) has a fine tradition of producing competitive squads but rugby has not been the choice of many in the past few years. The Awards for all grant allowed us to build a firm link and provided coaching and equipment to the pupils at Blacon. We are on the way to establishing a rugby side in every year group and hopefully at club level. This season the juniors will be entering the league and this is all thanks to the funding provided by the National Lottery and Awards For All. The RFU have offered support by way of coaching in house and tournaments hosted at our ground, a push from the RDO has helped us begin the Club Mark Award Scheme process.
