1st XV put in a dissapointing display Away at Brentwood and return home with only a share of the spoils after a 15 -15 draw.
Brightlingsea's refusal to kick off early against the Rovers backfired as they were crushed 64 - 3.
The Wolves were left frustrated as Walsham declined to travel.
The Colts National Plate campaign came to an end against a classy Blackheath side. Despite dominating the opening 15 minutes and battling hard through to the end...Bury had no answer to the pace and power of the London visitors.

Dwain Brown
As you all know we have now formally appointed our first ever full-time Community Rugby Development Officer and Coaching Coordinator, Dwain Brown. Dwain will be using his experience to help develop and improve coaches at all levels within the Club. He will be spending time working closely with our dedicated teams of youth and mini coaches helping them to improve their skills and game knowledge.
Whilst retaining his role of head coach for the seniors, his remit will also include going into all schools in the area, promoting the club and providing coaching for young players at all levels, improving their skill levels and encouraging more youngsters of all ages to take up the game and to join the club.
In order to facilitate this role we are delighted to be able to advise that Nigel Birrell has negotiated with Marshall Peugeot to provide Dwain with a sponsored car, which has been emblazoned with club logos publicising the club. This will further help to raise awareness of the club within the local community. Please see above picture of Dwain being presented with his car by Kym Robertson, the local Marshall sales manager.

SAINTS LIFT TROPHY
Action-packed day of top quality 7s rugby thrills large crowd
Quote from Mike Friday of Blackheath (and England)
"Blackheath had a great time at the inaugural Bury St Edmunds 7's. It
was a very well run tournament with a good standard of 7's on show from
the great 7's invitational teams taking part from Samurai and Marauders
through to a very strong Northampton Saints, St George, Welsh Warriors
and Cambridge University. I am sure the event will go from strength to
strength and with the warm family atmosphere and hospitality shown by
Bury St Edmunds we at Blackheath look forward to the invite next year to
what will be I am sure an even more successful tournament. "
COUNTY CHAMPIONS ONCE AGAIN!!!
Bury were once again crowned champions, retaining their suffolk title by beating valiant Colchester by 33 to16 at the Haberden. It was a fine performance to finish the 2009 season on high and follows their unprecendented league success this season. Many Photos in Photo Gallery.
