In the club house after the match, a rare thing occured and for those who left early will regret that a certain fullback, the late David Vilday sang with the team then dissapeared, only to reappear some time later wearing only a brown bobble hat. The team were treated to "a Moon, a Streak and a Zumala? all the way round the club house. This was much appreciated and he gave an encore of sorts on the bus home.
As the bus passed through Bures the windscreen fell out, and then at Ipswich Road it ran out of fuel and had to be pushed to the nearest garage.
It was at this game that Graham Williams had been invited to play for Suffolk County.
