Why change a great picture!!
Squads for 2009 - 2010
We can nominate up to 22 players for each A1/A2 league game, but in these games the key priority is to win. We will therefore only select boys who we think would cope at the standard required. This means that league squads are generally of 18-20 boys, and whilst we expect all of those to get some match time that cannot be guaranteed. However, there was only 1 game (out of 18) last season in which we did not get everyone on the pitch, and that was the first team county cup final.
We are in the fortunate position of having almost 50 boys to choose from, so clearly on a league weekend not all the boys will play. For this reason we have set up a mini Merit Table with a few clubs, and we currently have 6 fixtures set up with an aim of getting that to 8 eventually (we hope to play Shelford again, for example). In these matches the priority will be those not involved in league games, and they will all start and get at least half a game, most probably a full game. There are likely to be more Merit table games than league games, so there is no danger of the less skillful boys not getting enough game time.
If both A1s and A2s have a league game then there will not be any training for those not involved that Sunday.
