Sleaford 10 Ampthill U17 29, Sun, Mar 2nd

Ampthill Under 17s won through to the semi final of the Midlands division of the RFU National U17 Cup grinding out a win over a Sleaford side who fought hard throughout the game.
Despite producing a performance that could not be described as 'joined up' Amps led at half time 10-5 after playing against a strong wind. The home side scored an early try in the second half but Ampthill gradually turned the screw scoring 19 unanswered points.
Amps know they will have to raise their game to a higher level if they are to progress in the competition.

Leighton Buzzard U17 17 Ampthill U17 25, Sun, Nov 25th

In the semi final of the East Midlands Under 17s cup Ampthill secured a 25-17 victory away at Leighton Buzzard.
A great win that was achieved without the services of centre Henry Staff and back row James Ingle. Staff was otherwise engaged in Paris playing for England Under 18s in a 42-26 victory over the French and Ingle was away attending the Midlands U18 trials.
Ampthill, who have twice previously lifted the National Under 17s Plate title will play either Towcester or Oundle in the East Midlands Final in January.

A very satisfying win for the Ampthill 17s squad which included 3 Under 16s for the first time. All 3, Woody, Miles and Nick played the entire match and they contributed four of the Ampthill tries.
Alex Goodge once again stretched his old mans wallet with a Hat Trick. Some superb rugby and other noticeable mentions go to Daz and Munkey, forwards running like backs, Jack dominating the line out, Joshs and his second yellow in a week and a welcome run out for Henry ' I fancy a drop goal- not' Staff.
Great spirit by the Ampthill squad and we need to find you a more testing challenge. When you think of the players we have missing all looks good.

The record books will show Goodge 4 Tries, Potter 3 Tries, Harrison Lynch 2 Tries, Woodbridge 1 Try and Liddell 3 conversions but that does not tell the full story.
Luton only had 11 players so conceded the match before kick off which enableb Josh Macmillan to have a rest so his elbow scabs can recover, thanks for coming and benching Josh, much appreciated.
To play a 14 a side match we lent Luton 3 players in the first half (Benjy, Barney and Daz) and 3 alternate lads in the second half (Oli C, Chris L and Adam).
