Welcome!
Hello to all who have chosen to visit this page whether you are player, ex-player, prospective player or just interested in local
community rugby. This is the information point for Stourport RFC. We are currently in the process of re-vamping this site,
so please be patient! For the season ahead, we promise to get this updated regularly so save www.stourportrfc.co.uk to your
favourites and check it out for all the news and forthcoming events and fixtures!
Well the new season has just started and it's so good to be back in the club house where we belong! We had many ups and
downs last season but everyone had a great time and as always a very WELL DONE & THANK YOU to all who contributed not
only on the pitch but also behind the scenes!
Training
Training has started up again and we will more than welcome new players of all levels to
come down and give it a TRY!
Mens training is on Tuesdays and Thursdays 7.30pm - 9.30pm & Ladies training is
Mondays 7.30pm - 9pm at the clubhouse behind the Stourport Sports centre, Harold Davies
Drive, Walshes Meadow, Stourport.
Remember if you want to play for the first team, we have to register you with the RFU please contact either Neil Perkens, our membership
& registration secretary, or our new coach Griff to make sure you are registered.
For those of you who are loo k ing at this site and are not currently playing please come and watch one of our games or training
sessions, see if you enjoy the rugby experience at club both the game and the all important social element. Once you come down
and get into the friendly atmosphere I promise you will want to return time and time again. There is usually at least one home game
every Saturday from the end of September until the beginning of April each year. If you are a previous member come visit and see
the changes for yourself there are quite a few, if you are considering playing whether you are an experienced player or have never
even touched a rugby ball, one of our members of coaching staff will endeavor to help improve your technique and performance,
through training and playing. The clubhouse is behind the Stourport Sports Centre, next to the Stourport Swifts Football ground,
all on the Walshes meadow. If your unsure of coming straight to training please just come and watch get a feel of the great
atmosphere or call one of the contacts on this web page for a chat.
That's all from the news side of things at the moment other that to reiterate that there is a lot of work going on behind the scenes on club
development and we will keep you posted!
However, the club desperately needs more volunteers whether it is helping prepare and serve the food on matchdays or preparing the
pitches pre-match, but these important positions need to be filled, they are fulfilling and it is great to be able to give something back to a
club that has provided so many with so much enjoyment :-)! One final thought - we are trying to set up a youth side - does anyone know
anyone who may be interested in helping out?! Let us know if you do!
Many Thanks & Best Wishes!
Sam Jones (Vice Chairman)
