Dave Pearson - Northumberland's International Referee
Dave Pearson, one of the RFU’s six full time elite referees, was selected by the IRB to referee his first senior international game, Argentina v Japan on 23rd April 2005
Dave has officiated in the Zurich Premiership, and the Powergen and Heineken Cups. His first international was a week he refereee his first Powergen Cup final at Twickenham and a week before refereeing on the final Saturday in the Zurich Premiership.
At the time, Dave who had been refereeing at the elite level for four years, said, “I’m thrilled to bits by the news. I’ve worked towards this ever since I reached the National Panel seven years ago. It’s always been my goal and as I was involved in a referee exchange to Argentina in 2001 and have refereed in their main championship before and speak Spanish, Argentina is ideal for my first international match as a referee.”
